A friend of mine was watching this beautiful orange sunset by the pier in Capitola – tiny town just by Santa Cruz in California.
Rays of setting sun cut trough clouds of sand and dust
It was a sunrise by Lake Tahoe, one of the really cold ones. There was a thin layer of ice forming on the water, so delicate that it was being broken by the wind. You can see it zig-zagging on the water surface, around the tiny island.
I went to Battery Spencer to photograph sunset on the northern side of Golden Gate bridge. I turned around and this is what I saw behind my back – sun setting in the hills around Rodeo Cove.
Engine parts are so polished, you could easily see your image in them!
